Smashbox recently came out with a new collection ‘the cover shot palettes’ the collection consists of 7 high-impacted eye shadow palettes that are influenced by trends seen at their L.A. photo studio.

”Each slimline, portable palette has a curated mix of 6 shadows + 2 double-sized base shades that deliver beyond blendable color in velvety, fierce foil finishes you’ll obsess over.”

  • Metallic: Fierce foil finish
  • Matte: high-coverage, velvety
  • Golden Hour: Creamy, lit-from-within shades
  • Softlight: Soft-focus, wearable shimmers
  • Smoky: Effortless and modern
  • Bold: Transformative and electrifying
  • Ablaze: Hot, desert-inspired shades

”The star of our Cover Shots campaign is actress and social media powerhouse Shay Mitchell. Inspired by the distinct vibes of the palettes, we worked with Shay to create a unique personality for each one. Think: 7 palettes. 7 shades of Shay. Channel her style or mix shadows to get your own individual look.”

When i saw the promo for these palettes i knew i had to get them,  from the 7 shades i have 5 of them (i don’t have the bold and the matte one ). Let’s get to the swatches.

Golden Hour eye palette.

This palette has lots of gold and warm shades in it.The deep browns and lighter golden shades work so well together.

Softlight eye palette.

This palette is the arrangement of subtle, shimmering shades. The shimmer isn’t quite as intense in these shades, instead, they’re designed to give a sheeny look to the lid. It’s a very natural palette.img_20170129_231527_215

Smoky eye palette.

This palette is definitely one of my favorites. Lots of deep, rich shades that are perfect for a smokey eye. There’s plenty of shimmers to choose from, depending on what kind of look you’re going for and two neutral base shades at the top that would work for pretty much anyone.

These palettes are amazing the Golden Hour and the Smoky palettes a definitely  2 of my favorites the pigmentation is beautiful and not crumbly, you can get beautiful eye looks with these palettes.

For the Softlight palette it is a big disappointment for me they barely show up on my skin tone the texture is flaky and crumbly, almost all the shades look the same on me you only see a bit of glitter it’s definitely a No for me.

The Golden Hour and the Smoky palette i would recommend to everyone who loves eye shadow and a beautiful eye look they are also not pricey i paid 29,50 euros ( 29,00 dollars) for each palette and with the amount of product and good quality you get it’s definitely a great deal.

Wanna see the rest of my review? On Thursday part 2 of my review will be up.

Let me now in the comments which ones you’re fave.

XOXO Lisa.
