This is part 2  of my swatch & review of the new Smashbox cover shot palettes, in this post i’am reviewing 2 of my favorite palettes of this line the Ablaze and the Metallic eye palette. Here are the swatches.

Ablaze eye palette.

Ablaze has got to be the one that captured everyone’s attention straight away. A warm-shadow lover’s dream. Three mattes and six shimmers, varying from satiny to all out metallic finishes. There are reds, terracottas and beautiful warm golds in here, all complementing each other beautifully.

Metallic eye palette.

The metallic palette is, as you might’ve guessed, all shimmer. With some light pearlescent shades and plenty of golds, bronzes and taupes. Although I often prefer having at least one or two mattes shades in a palette, this is a great one for those who are looking to add a little more shimmery shades to their collection.

The formula of these eyeshadows is amazing the Ablaze, Metallic, Golden Hour and Smoky eye palette are amazingly pigmented they have a creamy texture, blend well on the eyes and are not dry i would highly recommend these to everyone. They are great for makeup beginners or makeup addicts as myself.

You can make a lot of different eye looks with these palettes i personally love the Ablaze Golden Hour and the smoky palette the most out of the 5 i have. The packaging is small and sleek so really easy to put in you’re makeup bag or to travel with.

I also really love the design on the front of the palettes they have an amazing holographic design, if you turn the palette a little bit to the side you can see the movement of a color explosion.

The Soft Light palette didn’t work out for me the colors didn’t really show up on my skin tone, the palette has poor pigmentation, the shadows have a lot of fallout and are crumbly it just wasn’t something for me. Maybe if you have a darker skin tone the palette is something for you.

I will definitely pick up the 2 other ones the Matte and bold eye palette. Smashbox really outdid themselves with these launch.

The price of the palettes is not expensive, they retail for 29,50 euro or 29,00 dollar but you get 8 shades so it’s a good deal.

Let me know in the comments which one is you’re favorite or if you will pick up one.

XOXO Lisa.
